Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Bookkeeper in an award‑winning London‑based firm known for design‑led staging and strong client service. The company is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to strengthen its finance team within a fast‑growing interior design and home‑staging business. The role would support the Head of Finance in managing daily financial operations, maintaining accurate accounts, and contributing to reporting across multiple projects. They added that they were looking for someone experienced, detail‑focused, and confident with Xero, who could handle both accounts payable and receivable while fitting into their collaborative, open‑plan office environment.
Job Requirements:
AAT Level 3/4 or certified bookkeeping qualification, with strong AR/AP ledger experience.
Xero proficiency (including related apps) is essential.
3–4 years in a finance role with a positive, proactive attitude.
Skilled in Accounts Payable: processing invoices/credits/expenses, matching POs, reconciling supplier statements, managing credits, handling queries, and making supplier payments.
Skilled in Accounts Receivable: creating client accounts, issuing invoices, processing payments, monitoring debtors, managing renewals, and producing daily sales reports.
Able to support month‑end, financial reporting, and project tracking.
Strong communication skills, understanding of data privacy, and good business awareness.
Interest in interior design/property and ability to work accurately, professionally, and collaboratively.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitoring day‑to‑day financial operations alongside the Head of Finance.
Liaising with external partners for tax preparation, audits, banking, investments, and HMRC requirements.
Reviewing financial data and preparing monthly management accounts and draft year‑end statements.
Preparing and presenting financial reports.
Staying updated on new technologies and accounting software relevant to financial processes.
Understanding and adhering to financial regulations and legislation.
Managing credit control activities.
Overseeing cashflow management.
Preparing VAT returns.
