A welcoming and inclusive primary school is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support and help them feel confident, included, and capable in their learning environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Support children with EHCPs during lessons and transitions
- Adapt classroom activities and resources to meet individual learning needs
- Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Support communication and social interaction development
- Monitor progress and feedback to the class teacher and SENCO
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
You'll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and celebrate every success - big or small.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (school, care, youth work or similar setting)
- Is patient, calm, and resilient
- Builds positive relationships quickly
- Works effectively as part of a team
- Is confident supporting individuals and small groups
- Is willing to assist with personal care if required
- Holds an Enhanced DBS (or is willing to obtain one)
