A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Exeter is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who have additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech & language difficulties, and other learning needs, helping them access education in a way that works for them.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Support children with EHCPs during lessons and transitions
- Adapt learning activities and classroom resources under teacher guidance
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Support communication, social interaction, and confidence building
- Monitor and report on pupil progress to the class teacher and SENCO
- Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
You'll be a key part of ensuring every pupil feels understood and able to thrive.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with SEN (in school, care, or similar settings)
- Is patient, calm, and nurturing
- Builds positive relationships quickly
- Communicates clearly and works well within a team
- Is confident supporting individuals and small groups
- Is willing to assist with personal care where required
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
- Competitive daily rate of £85-£95 per day
