Learning Curve Nursery are seeking a Nursery Room Leader who will be a key person within our nursery, working within a designated age group, our vacancy is in one of our toddler rooms. As part of our daily role here you would take an active part in assessment, planning and delivering age/stage appropriate activities and environment enhancements as well as working as part of a small team to provide a safe and secure environment for our youngest children. There are some light domestic duties included. In addition to the description specified above, the Room Leader will take on the following responsibilities:You will liaise with and fully support your age group leader giving voice to any concerns from your team that you feel unable to resolve adequately for the benefit of the children. You will support your team by making sure that they have the opportunity to bring forward ideas, or raise concerns, at an appropriate time (eg by holding short but regular meetings). Ensuring the overall smooth running of your team for the benefit of the children. Ensuring that targets are met – as agreed with Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager.Ensuring that records are kept accurately, in a timely fashion, and safely stored.To attend staff meetings and parents’ evenings as required; to participate in planning and implementing projects; and to offer suggestions for new activities. To undertake training with a view to furthering knowledge/ experience, or to refresh existing skills. Such training to be requested and paid for by Learning Curve Nursery (see terms of employment). To agree to the policies and procedures as set out in the handbook, and to operate them to the best of your ability. To adhere to all nursery policies and, in particular, to those on safeguarding, equal opportunities, health and safety, and food hygiene.Person SpecificationA thorough working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum. A completed Early Years Level 2 or 3 qualification. The ability to create a stimulating environment that motivates children to learn independently. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with children and our parents.The ability to plan, assess and carry out children’s observations.The ability to discreetly attend to young children’s toileting needs. Hours, Salary & BenefitsHours of work: Full time role, 40 hours per week Contract type: PermanentSalary: £13.90 - £14.30 ph / £28,912.00 - £29,744.00 pa based on qualifications and experience.
