Location: The Beauchamp City Sixth Form
Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Term Time Only + 3 days
Salary: Grade 3, Point 3 (£13,428 actual salary)

The Beauchamp City Sixth Form is looking for a friendly and committed Catering Assistant to join our busy catering team.
About the Role
Working as part of our dedicated in house catering team, you’ll help prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals to students and staff. You’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience and ensuring our kitchen runs efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
This is a hands on, fast paced role where no two days are the same — ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Preparing and cooking food under the direction of the Catering Manager
• Serving meals and snacks to students, staff, and visitors
• Operating tills at busy break and lunch periods
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas
• Supporting stock rotation and safe food storage
• Helping with out of hours events such as parents’ evenings (where required)
• Promoting healthy food choices and a positive dining environment
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Experience in food preparation
• Level 2 Food Safety certificate (or willingness to refresh prior to starting)
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive team player with the ability to work independently when needed
• Understanding of safe food handling and cross contamination• General knowledge of nutrition, allergen control and labellingDesirable:
• Experience working in a school, college, or similar catering environment
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
• Experience operating commercial catering equipment
