Responsibilities (5 key points)
Support the accurate and timely delivery of monthly payroll, including BACS transmissions, RTI submissions (FPS/EPS), validation reports, and post-payroll processes.
Provide technical support for Oracle Payroll, including system developments, upgrades, testing, issue resolution, and liaison with the Oracle Support Team.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including PAYE, NI, pensions (LGPS, Teachers’, NHS), year-end processes (P60s, tax codes), and financial regulations.
Produce payroll reports, reconciliations, management information, and respond to Finance/Audit queries while maintaining data accuracy and confidentiality.
Build effective relationships with internal teams, external bodies, and payroll clients, supporting onboarding, continuous improvement, and digital transformation initiatives.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of PAYE, HMRC regulations, tax, NI, pensions legislation, and payroll compliance requirements.
Experience using payroll and finance systems (ideally Oracle) and strong IT skills, particularly advanced Excel.
Proven experience in payroll calculations, reconciliations, reporting, and working in a highly analytical, data-driven environment.
Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate clearly with internal departments, clients, and external bodies.
Relevant payroll qualification or substantial experience in a customer-focused payroll environment, with strong problem-solving and systems analysis skills.
