Summary
Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp to perm role starting March 2026

Duties as Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils with complex needs, including Autism, SLD, and Speech and Language challenges
- Work within mixed‑age KS1 and KS2 groups organised by cognitive ability
- Assist with daily routines, personalised strategies, and sensory support
- Contribute to pupil observations, progress notes, and written reports
- Reinforce learning tasks through repetition, structured modelling, and scaffolded support
- Deliver small‑group and 1:1 activities under the direction of teaching staff
- Build calm, trusting relationships to support engagement and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teachers, speech and language teams, and wider SEND staff
- Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise pupil well‑being
Ideal Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant:
- At least Level 2 TA qualification; Level 3 welcome but experience is key
- Minimum two years of experience supporting SEND pupils
- Confident supporting pupils with Autism, SLD, and communication needs
- Strong understanding of SEND strategies and differentiated approaches
- Calm, patient, and resilient when working with complex needs
- Strong observation, reporting, and record‑keeping skills
- Able to build supportive, consistent relationships with pupils
- Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
