Yard Team Leader/Section Leader
Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
Reports to: Yard Manager
Salary: Competitive + incredible event exposure
We’re looking for a proactive Team Leader/Section Leader to support the smooth running of our Yard operations. You’ll lead a small team, oversee daily section activity, and help maintain our high operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead your section’s daily workflow, ensuring safe, efficient operations
- Oversee goods in/out, including receiving deliveries, sorting components, storing items, picking and packing for dispatch
- Support and guide operatives, ensuring standards, cleanliness, and accurate completion of tasks and documentation
- Complete and oversee stock checks, pick sheets, inspections, toolbox talks and H&S paperwork (RAMS, COSHH, inductions)
- Report shortages/damages and escalate issues to Yard Manager as needed
- Support absence management, return‑to‑works, and appraisals for your team
- Lead or support loading/unloading, kit maintenance, and general yard/warehouse tasks as required
- Liaise with Yard Management and Operations to meet deadlines and maintain high standards
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 2 years’ warehouse/yard experience (section‑specific experience preferred)
- People leadership experience
- Forklift Licence
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work safely around plant equipment and perform manual handling tasks
