HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic — Erith — £45,760–£55,000 + OT (Mon–Fri 08:00–16:30, 1-in-2 Sat 05:00–13:00)
Join a stable, well‑supported workshop in Erith as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician. You’ll work on modern trucks and trailers, carrying out diagnostics, servicing and repairs to DVSA/manufacturer standards—backed by manufacturer‑led training, on‑site support and regular overtime.
The role — HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician
• Carry out major & minor repairs on HGVs, trailers and ancillary equipment
• Complete scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical & electrical faults using diagnostic tools/schematics
• Accurately prepare paperwork, job cards and service records to deadlines
• Support roadside and workshop breakdown repairs as required
• Ensure all work complies with DVSA safety and compliance standards
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
What you’ll bring
• Level 3 NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Truck Technician
• Strong fault‑finding skills and a right‑first‑time approach to DVSA standards
• Full UK driving licence
• (Desirable) Experience with vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems and trailer maintenance; familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic platforms/telematics; LOLER or BPW training (or willingness to train)
Pay, hours & type
• Salary: £45,760–£55,000 per annum plus overtime
• Hours: Mon–Fri 08:00–16:30 + 1 in 2 Saturdays 05:00–13:00
• Job type: Full‑time, permanent
