A 6 months secondment opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced senior nurse, allied health professional or healthcare scientist to join University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) as the Associate Divisional Director for Nursing and AHPs (ADDN/P) in Division A.

As a senior leader within Division A and the trust, you will work to assure the provision of safe, effective and evidence based care as part of the senior divisional, professional and clinical leadership team for all nurses and healthcare professions. WHAT YOU'LL DO
As ADDN/P you will be a highly visible presence accountable to the director of nursing. You’ll work to ensure the provision of high quality, evidence based, responsive services that hold the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Provision of professional and managerial leadership across the Division, focusing on Governance, Patient Safety, Safeguarding and Clinical Standards.
• Leading on developments and innovation in nursing and practice standards linking with local and national agencies
• Being a highly visible presence, ensuring the provision of high quality, evidence based, responsive service which holds the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery.
• Accountability for the direct delivery of high quality nursing care and continual review of standards in clinical practice working within the financial framework
• Leading on developing clinical and practice standards using Clinical Governance frameworks, patient feedback and audit.
• Divisional lead for specific quality agendas
• Leading corporate projects as agreed by the DDN and CNO

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You will be an inspiring and motivated nurse, AHP or HCS leader, who’s committed to the consistent delivery of high standards of compassionate care, with the ability to challenge and influence practice. You will have a proven track record putting safety, quality and patient experience at the heart of practice. You will have demonstrable experience of leading nursing and clinical services, with experience of leading initiatives across an organisation. As a senior leader within the organisation you will also need to demonstrate the following skills:
• budget management
• formal and informal teaching
• staff and resource management
• project management and delivery
