Crynodeb
Ensure observance of Food Hygiene Legislation, Health and Safety Regulations and safe practices and procedures general. To maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene as set out in the departmental Catering Policy and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Policy. To understand and practice good food hygiene practices in accordance with food hygiene regulations. To assist in Food preparation and the service of both patients, staff and visitors in both kitchen and retail outlets . Acting courteously and, ensuring all meals reach the Trusts standards of service and presentation within both patient and retail services. To correctly dispose of all waste streams e.g. food, cardboard, etc. following the instructions given by Supervisors/ Lead Chef regarding storage or disposal. Ensuring all crockery is clean and checked to the standards as determined by the policy and standard. To work within the retail units as and when required. The safe distribution of patient meals, meeting time deadlines to provide protected mealtimes. Support, maintain and encourage effective communication, and confidentiality of information. Carry out work in compliance with agreed Health and Safety standards. Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and guidelines for self-others, taking action/alerting senior management team if practice appears to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patient care. Ensure a healthy, safe, and secure working environment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation, and reporting any concerns. Take responsibility for own learning and development by recognising and taking advantage of all opportunities to learn, including full participation in KSF/appraisal, supervision, action learning and by maintaining a professional/personal portfolio of learning. Mentor new members of staff, ensuring they meet the standards required by the Trust for the service we deliver.
