Neway International are seeking a Private Sector Housing Team Manager to join our client based with Redbridge Council.

Location: 255–259 High Road, Ilford, IG1 1NN
Hours: 37 per week
Start Date: 16 March 2026
Duration: 24 Weeks
Work Pattern: Initial 5 days in the office; after one‑month induction, 1–2 days per week in the office
Rates:

PAYE: £24.52 per hour

Limited/Umbrella: £32.00 per hour

About the Client
Redbridge Council’s Civic Pride directorate is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and well‑managed housing standards across the borough. The Private Sector Housing service plays a key role in improving property conditions, enforcing legislation and supporting residents living in privately rented accommodation.

The Role
As the Private Sector Housing Team Manager, you will lead and manage the Private Sector Housing Standards team, ensuring effective service delivery, regulatory compliance and high‑quality outcomes for residents. You will oversee enforcement activity, support officers with complex casework, and contribute to strategic improvements that enhance housing conditions across the borough.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and support the Private Sector Housing team to deliver high‑quality regulatory and enforcement services.

Oversee investigations into housing standards, disrepair, licensing compliance and statutory breaches.

Provide professional guidance on complex cases, ensuring decisions are legally robust and evidence‑based.

Monitor team performance, caseloads and service delivery targets.

Contribute to policy development, service planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Build effective working relationships with internal departments, landlords, agents and external partners.

Ensure accurate record‑keeping, reporting and compliance with relevant legislation and council procedures.

Support the delivery of projects aimed at improving private sector housing conditions and resident wellbeing.
