Summary
To provide specialist advice on ecology and biodiversity matters relevant to the planning service.
About you:
• Significant experience of biodiversity matters relevant to planning
• A sound understanding of biodiversity policy, guidance and legislation.
• Degree or equivalent in biodiversity, ecology or a related subject.
• A sound understanding of planning legislation and procedures.
• Experience of delivering excellent customer care.
• Good interpersonal skills and to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
What you will do:
To provide professional advice / training on biodiversity matters to Planning Officers, Planning Agents /Applicants, Councillors and the Planning, Taxi Licensing and Rights of Way Committee.
To undertake when appropriate, EIA screening and give EIA scoping opinions formally on behalf of the authority.
To undertake biodiversity assessments relevant to the planning process, including HRA assessments.
To remain up to date with all relevant legislation, appropriate guidance, national standards, policies and other good practice.
To take the lead in maintaining close working links with Natural Resources Wales and other biodiversity organisations.
There is no DBS Check requirement for this position.
