Clinical Assess, develop, implement and evaluate patient care when receiving the patient into the theatre environment, whilst supporting the patient through invasive procedures and during handover at the completion of the surgical procedure. Prepare, assemble and check theatre equipment, ensuring the provision of equipment and stock for procedures planned. Communication Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, carers, and colleagues. Provide reassurance and information to patients undergoing surgery, many of whom may be anxious or visually impaired. Education Provide education to patients being discharged home with evidence-based information and up to date advice. Act as a mentor to unqualified and junior staff Leadership Support and supervise junior staff, students, and healthcare assistants within the theatre environment. Act as a role model for professional behaviour and clinical standards.
