Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum + benefits including;

- 28 days holiday (increasing by 1 day per year)
- Opportunity to progress up to board/director level if desired
- Regular pay reviews and wider bonus opportunities
- Flexibility on hours + hybrid potential

Exciting new opportunity for a long-established, highly respected accountancy practice based near Stroud. This is a friendly, close-knit team where you’ll be supported by the Directors and your colleagues, while having the autonomy to develop your skills, manage your own clients and take ownership of projects.
The Director also operates additional businesses that you can get involved with if you’re keen to broaden your experience but absolutely no pressure if you’d prefer to stay focused on core practice work. As you grow, the Director is more than happy to hand over project responsibilities (with pay increases to match), and longer-term progression right up to Director/board level is very much on the table for those who want it.
The practice is committed to rewarding people properly for their contribution. You can expect fair, regular pay reviews, long term bonus opportunities and genuine investment in your development, including support for further finance qualifications.
The team primarily works from the office to maintain strong collaboration, especially in a small practice environment. However, once you’re settled and confident in your role, there is scope for occasional work-from-home flexibility where it makes sense.
Benefits include free parking, flexible hours, BUPA, 28 days’ holiday (rising by one day per year to 31), and clear pathways to progression- whether that’s stepping into wider business projects or working towards Director level. Both full-time and part-time applicants will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- New Client meetings, onboarding and customer relations.
- Review of monthly and year-end work produced by other staff.
- Preparation and ownership of a few key ongoing management and financial accounts.
- Preparation of year end statutory accounts and tax returns (non-audit).
- Basic tax advice for individuals, partnerships and companies, year-end computations and returns.
- Charity accounts and returns.
- Preparation of traditional accounts from incomplete records.
- Involvement with ad hoc consultancy work as required.
Key Attributes:
-Strong accounts experience including knowledge of sole trader and personal tax
-ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification
-Friendly, team player
-Computer literate with good Excel skills
