Use your creativity to make a real difference.

At St Luke’s Hospice, every conversation, every post, every campaign helps us support patients and families at the most important times of their lives. We’re looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing & Communications team and help bring our story to life.

This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same. One day you might be creating social media content, the next updating the website, supporting a fundraising campaign, visiting a retail shop, or designing eye-catching posters.

If you love writing, enjoy social media, have a good eye for design, and want your work to truly matter, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As our Marketing Assistant, you’ll support the delivery of St Luke’s marketing, communications and digital activity across multiple channels. You’ll help ensure our messaging is engaging, compassionate, consistent and aligned with our brand.

You’ll work closely with the Marketing & Communications Team, building positive relationships across clinical teams, fundraising, retail and corporate services.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to grow their marketing career in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Social Media & Digital

Creating, scheduling and monitoring content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and X

Spotting trends and identifying ways to grow reach and engagement

Responding to messages and comments with professionalism and sensitivity

Supporting analytics reporting and identifying opportunities for growth

Website, Email & Intranet

Updating website content and alerts

Supporting Mailchimp email campaigns

Keeping the hospice intranet accurate and up to date

Design & Creative

Designing posters, leaflets and social graphics using Canva

Supporting photography and video content gathering

Maintaining our digital image library and shared folders

Print & On-Site Support

Coordinating printing and distribution of materials

Updating digital screens across hospice and retail sites

Supporting retail promotions and site visits

Campaigns & Events

Assisting with fundraising campaigns, retail promotions and event launches

Supporting projects such as website reviews and TikTok development

Undertaking research into audience insights and social trends

Occasional evening and weekend work will be required to support events.

About You

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Experience using social media for an organisation or brand

Basic design skills (e.g. Canva or similar tools)

Good organisation and time management

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Confident using Microsoft Office and digital tools

Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

At St Luke’s we aspire to build diverse and inclusive teams where everyone is welcome and feels a sense of belonging, recognising the value that different principles, perspectives and experiences bring. We see EDI as more than simply ensuring we commit to our legal obligations under the Equality Act, making certain no person or persons are unlawfully discriminated against because of any characteristic as legally protected under the UK Equality Act 2010, which we extend to include neurodiversity and socio-economic diversity. We are committed to attracting as diverse a range of candidates as possible and welcome speaking to people about how we can build in flexibility.

Living Our Values

As a St Luke’s Ambassador, you’ll represent the Hospice with compassion, professionalism and integrity. You’ll work in line with our Vision, Purpose and Values, supporting our strategic priorities and helping raise the profile of the Hospice in the community.

We’re looking for someone who demonstrates:

Compassion and inclusivity

Professionalism and accountability

Collaboration and openness

A commitment to learning and continuous improvement

Why Join St Luke’s?

At St Luke’s, you’ll be part of a creative and supportive Marketing & Communications team, helping to share the stories that inspire our community, support our patients and families, and drive vital fundraising and retail income.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills to make a genuine difference within a respected hospice charity, known for its compassion, collaboration and commitment to continuous improvement.

We offer a wide range of benefits, including generous annual leave, flexible and hybrid working options, a competitive pension scheme, wellbeing and counselling support, access to health cash plans, staff discounts in our shops, and ongoing learning and development opportunities to help you grow your career.
