About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and personable Site Assistant to work at the front gate at a welcoming secondary school in Derby with immediate effect. This is an important front-facing role, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and contractors arriving on site.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and professional operation of our school entrance.

Key Responsibilities

• Meeting and greeting visitors, parents, students, and contractors at the school gate

  
  

• Directing visitors to appropriate locations across the school site

  
  

• Assisting individuals with the school’s sign-in procedures

  
  

• Ensuring safeguarding and security procedures are followed at all times

  
  

• Communicating clearly and professionally with staff and visitors

  
  

• Reporting any concerns promptly to senior staff

  
  The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be friendly, approachable, and confident communicating with a wide range of people

    
    

  • Demonstrate a calm and professional manner

    
    

  • Have good organisational skills and attention to detail

    
    

  • Be punctual and dependable

    
    

  • Understand the importance of safeguarding in a school environment

    
    

    Previous experience in a school, customer service, or reception environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
