Role Purpose

The Internal Meetings & Events Supervisor supports the successful delivery of Live and Confex events, with a primary focus on internal meetings, catering, tastings, and events. The role ensures exceptional customer service, strong operational standards, and effective team supervision to deliver seamless food and beverage experiences while building positive client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Support daily operations including event setup, service delivery, and close-down procedures

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards

  • Assist with stock control, deliveries, and inventory management

Customer Service

  • Deliver outstanding service and manage guest enquiries or issues

  • Maintain high presentation and service standards

  • Gather feedback to enhance the overall experience

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support bar and restaurant teams during events

  • Assist with onboarding and training

  • Foster a positive, collaborative working environment

Financial & Compliance

  • Process payments and support cash handling procedures

  • Contribute to cost control and waste reduction

  • Maintain adherence to regulatory and safety standards

Quality & Relationships

  • Monitor food and beverage quality and consistency

  • Host rooms confidently and manage stakeholder expectations

  • Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and suppliers

Essential

  • Experience within a fast paced hospitality environment (events, restaurants, hotels, or bars)

  • Experience supervising teams

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Understanding of food safety and regulatory compliance

  • Basic financial awareness (cash handling, stock control)

  • Problem-solving ability and team-focused mindset

  • Flexible approach to working hours

Desirable

  • Food safety knowledge

  • Beverage knowledge (wine, cocktails, etc.)

  • POS and basic IT skills

  • Networking and relationship-building skills
