What skills and experience we're looking for
The Assistant Head of House is a member of the wider Pastoral and Inclusion Team and is responsible for supporting the Head of House to ensure that all the students in their House are enabled to thrive and succeed in all that they do.
The Assistant Head of House supports the Head of House as the core link between student, parent and staff in relation to each individual student within the Year, and as part of the school’s wider Inclusion Team. The Assistant Head of House works to ensure that each student:
• has high attendance and punctuality
• has high standards of personal behaviour and conduct, uniform and appearance in line with school standards
• achieves their personal academic potential
• is enabled to develop the personal skills required to flourish through life
• is supported in relation to any personal barriers which could limit their success at ECC and beyond
In order to achieve this the Assistant Head of House will work with the Head of House along with all teachers and the wider Inclusion Team. This can involve convening staff to support a young person (e.g. TAF meetings). The Assistant Head of House will seek to resolve issues for their students as far as possible, but will refer matters on to the Head of House where necessary.
