Technician /Handyman

Sheffield - Full time

You'll keep things running, we’ll fast-track your career as a Technician/Handyman with Sodexo, we believe operational excellence starts with you, as your versatile skills contribute to the maintenance and continuous development of our prestigious client facilities.

Join our team and play a key role in delivering excellence and innovation in Hard FM and Technical Facilities Services.

As a Technician /Handyman you'll:

  • Support the safe operation, maintenance and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment across the site

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks within agreed contract timescales

  • Complete general maintenance duties including equipment moves, waste removal and building deep cleans

  • Work in full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, client Permit to Work systems, Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work

  • Accurately update handheld devices and CAFM systems with detailed job reports and required documentation

  • Proactively identify and report faults, hazards and improvement opportunities, taking corrective action where appropriate

  • Participate in overtime and on-call rotas to support reactive maintenance outside of normal operating hours

  • Maintain and use all PPE, tools and safety equipment responsibly

  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, management and client stakeholders

  • Represent Sodexo as a professional brand ambassador on site

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in a Building Services or Facilities Maintenance support role

  • Level 3 qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline (minimum)

  • 18th Edition qualification (desirable)

  • Knowledge of Building Services Engineering and facilities operations

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good IT skills, with experience using handheld devices or CAFM systems

  • Good general DIY skills and confidence using hand and power tools

  • Plumbing knowledge (advantageous)

  • L8 compliance knowledge or willingness to undertake training

  • Full, clean driving licence

  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain full SC Security Clearance
