About the role:
Please note we don't have a fixed closing date but instead will close the role when we have sufficient applicants to interview so apply soon to not miss out!
We are seeking an experienced and committed professional to lead and coordinate the successful transition of learners with SEND into and out of the College.
This is a pivotal role within Additional Learning Support, providing operational leadership to LSA Coordinators across our Bromley and Orpington campuses, while working closely with SpLD Tutors, curriculum teams and external partners to ensure that learners receive the right support from the point of enrolment through to progression.
About the role
The Transition Coordinator (South) will:
- Lead and manage LSA Coordinators, ensuring effective deployment of in-class support for learners with additional needs
- Work closely with SpLD tutors and teaching staff to share accurate, timely information about learners needs
- Act as a key link with feeder schools, parents and carers, supporting consultation and pre-enrolment processes
- Attend and host transition events, reviews and meetings, representing the College with professionalism and clarity
- Liaise with the EHCP Officer to support consultation and review processes
- Ensure specialist equipment and facilities are in place where required
- Support learners next steps into employment, further learning or apprenticeships
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and support data tracking processes
You will also work collaboratively with the wider Transition Coordinator team across Nido Volans and Project Galaxy.
About you
You will bring:
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) and a good standard of general education
- Degree-level education or equivalent, with an SEN qualification at Level 4 (or willingness to work towards this)
- Experience of managing a team and deploying resources effectively
- Strong knowledge of EHCPs and the needs of learners with complex learning difficulties and disabilities
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with learners, parents, staff and external agencies
- Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
We are looking for someone who is personable, determined and able to use their initiative, with a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and continuous professional development.
