Summary

The Role
Hayesfield Girls' School is looking for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our supportive staff team. Working under the direction of the Class Teacher and SENCo, you will play a vital role in ensuring our pupils can access learning effectively, providing both educational and pastoral support within the classroom environment.
The key responsibilities are:
Pupil Support: Supervise and support students to ensure their safety and access to learning, attending to personal, social, and health needs where required.
Inclusion: Act as a positive role model to promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils, encouraging them to interact independently and engage in teacher-led activities.
Classroom Management: Assist the teacher with classroom preparation, display work, and basic record-keeping to maintain a productive learning environment.
Curriculum Assistance: Support pupils in understanding instructions and developing basic literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills as directed by the teacher.
Pastoral Care: Provide essential pastoral support for pupils and assist with the supervision of students during non-lesson times, including lunchtimes and school trips.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
Education: A good standard of education with Level 2 qualifications (GCSE or equivalent) in Literacy and Numeracy.
Experience: Previous experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age in a paid, voluntary, or domestic capacity.
Communication: An ability to relate well to both children and adults with an interest in children's welfare and development.
IT Literacy: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and the use of general office equipment like photocopiers.
Desirable Requirements
Qualification: Possession of a recognised/relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
Knowledge of general First Aid.
Proven ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding different classroom roles and responsibilities.
