We're looking for a forward-thinking People Change Manager to support the People Operations function. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping and delivering HR, workforce, and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring our people, processes, and technology evolve in line with the charity's strategic goals.
You'll partner closely with HR, Technology, and Data teams to improve employee infrastructure, enhance HR systems, and unlock better ways of working across our organisation. With growing focus on digital capability, this role is perfect for someone who can combine strong change expertise with practical experience in improving and optimising HR technologies such as Workday.
With a growing emphasis on process ownership, you will act as a key guardian of People Services processes, ensuring they are well designed, clearly documented, well-governed, and continuously improved. You will also guide and support colleagues who hold process ownership responsibilities, helping them operate confidently and consistently within their remit.
As the People Change Manager you will:
-
Scope organisational, workforce, and technology related change needs, particularly across HR systems and employee data processes and develop change strategies that maximise engagement and user adoption of new processes, tools, and digital workflows.
-
Working in conjunction with the core Workday Tech Team to deliver technical configuration updates, ensuring business processes are continually optimised in line with the priorities of the Performance & Improvement Team.
-
Translate business requirements into Workday configuration specifications, ensuring proposed solutions meet system design principles, integrate effectively with downstream processes, and comply with governance standards.
-
Communicate the vision and case for change effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
-
Lead end‑to‑end projects related to People, Technology, and Employee Infrastructure, including Workday process improvements, system enhancements, and operational redesign.
-
Build project plans, timelines, business cases, and benefit realisation measures for digital and operational initiatives.
-
Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure delivery against key milestones and governance standards.
-
Design and deliver training to enhance project management, change management, and system adoption skills across stakeholder groups.
-
Act as a champion of process ownership across the People function, strengthening governance, defining clear roles, and identifying opportunities to enhance processes, templates, documentation, and digital workflows to ensure they are consistent, optimised, and well documented.
-
Support, coach, and guide team members in their process owner responsibilities, helping them diagnose issues, embed improvements, and maintain high-quality process standards.
To succeed as our People Change Manager you will bring:
-
Proven experience in HR project management or a similar role with a strong digital transformation component.
-
Hands-on experience configuring Workday, including making changes to business processes and condition rules, as well as implementing system enhancements and troubleshooting configuration issues.
-
Solid project management capability, including scoping, planning, governance, and delivery.
-
Experience supporting process owners or overseeing process governance, with the ability to coach and guide colleagues to embed improvements and maintain high quality process standards.
-
Excellent written, verbal, and numerical communication skills.
-
Strong understanding of HR processes, employment regulations, and the employee data lifecycle.
-
Ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
-
Proficiency with project and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Projects).
-
Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills.
-
A detail-oriented yet strategic mindset, with the confidence to influence and support change.
