Geography Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Stevenage and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging Geography lessons across a range of year groups.Duties as Geography Teacher:

• Deliver engaging Geography lessons using provided plans across Key Stages
• Teach a broad range of topics including physical, human, and environmental geography
• Develop pupils’ understanding of place, space, and global interdependence
• Support students in building enquiry, map-reading, and analytical skills
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of mixed-ability groups
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress when required
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives during longer-term placements

Ideal Geography Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong subject knowledge across the Geography curriculum
• Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to inspire curiosity about the world and promote a love of Geography
• Flexible and adaptable across different schools and year groups
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
