We pride ourselves on leading for new, innovative and sustainable products and solutions, both for today and for a new era of building.To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Technical Assistant to come and join our team at our Facility at Ibstock NostellRole SummaryThe successful candidate will support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of quality assurance systems, including materials testing, process control, and environmental control procedures, across the manufacturing operation.This role operates on a Mon-Fri - 8am to 4pm Key ResponsibilitiesPerform functional Quality Assurance and environmental control tasks in line with company procedures.Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive work instructions for testing and operational processes.Conduct product and raw material testing, analysis, and reporting.Contribute to process development and support continuous improvement initiatives within the department and across the wider factory operations.Promote and maintain high standards of Quality, Health & Safety, and environmental compliance.Record, document, and report test results and operational data accurately.Train colleagues and monitor the consistent application of process control checks throughout the facility.Apply and promote 5S methodology to improve within the Test LaboratoryAssist in identifying and implementing improvement techniques to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.Support thermal processing re Kiln and Dryer where requiredEssential Qualifications & ExperienceStrong numeracy and literacy skills.A good working knowledge of materials science principles (desirable).Experience in clay materials and associated manufacturing processes (advantageous).Competent IT skills, including data recording and reporting.Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.High level of Health & Safety awareness.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Self-motivated with the ability to work to defined standards with minimal supervision.Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
