We have a new opportunity to join our Campus Experience team as you help deliver our exciting Campus Connectivity plan and have a visible lasting impact on a large diverse community contributing to our commitments around sustainability, accessibility and wellbeing.
We’re looking for a hands-on and experienced transport development officer who will proactively act as the University’s champion in promoting sustainable travel.
To deliver in this exciting and impactful role, we hope you’ll bring the following:
- Be proactive, analytical and passionate about sustainable transport
- Experience in transport planning, sustainable travel, mobility strategy or a related field
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Confidence working with data, reports, and performance metrics
- Good skills and experience around stakeholder communications, understanding of risk and contract management.
Experience working in a university, local authority or large public sector organisation is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Working at the heart of a dynamic campus environment, you will lead the development and delivery of innovative transport logistic support for students, staff and visitors, helping to reduce carbon emissions, improve travel choices and enhance the overall campus experience.
About the Department
Our campus experience department is a strategic and outward looking team overseeing the delivery of experiential services and supporting in our campus connectivity plan.
Over the next few years our campus experience team, in partnership with the UoS sustainability team, will:
- Develop, implement and encourage initiatives to support and improve staff and student travel planning arrangements through a sustainable travel plan
- Analyse travel data, conduct surveys and use evidence to inform policy and investment decisions
- Improvement in operations aligned to our environmental and sustainable strategies
- Increase revenue with our growth plans and fund new sustainable initiatives
- Manage projects from concept to delivery, ensuring value for money and measurable outcomes
- Act as a key point of contact for transport related enquiries and stakeholder engagement
