Grade UE07: £41,064 – £48,822 per annum

Edinburgh Research Office / Corporate Services Group

Full Time: 35 hours per week

Fixed term: Until 31 July 2029

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the successful development and delivery of the Evidence Exchange (EvEX), an ESRC funded infrastructure investment aimed at improving the use of evidence and expertise in public policy by creating opportunities for public policy professionals and academic researchers to learn from each other. The post holder will contribute to the design of initiatives, development of programme content and implementation of activities, and make the logistical arrangements for the programme in Scotland. The Project Coordinator will work within a small team at Edinburgh, coordinating with counterparts at University of Cambridge as the lead institution, hubs for Wales (University of Swansea) and Northern Ireland (Queens University Belfast) and for local government (University of Manchester), as well as colleagues across other partner institutions and organisations.

Attributes for success:

Excellent understanding of the U research-policy interface and a genuine interest in public policy.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels of seniority.
Experience of conducting desk based research, with ability to digest complex information and utilise this for programme delivery.
Ability to do accurate record keeping for reporting and conduct evaluation and monitoring activities.

This post is full time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering 0.8FTE or flexible working patterns. The University of Edinburgh operates a hybrid working policy based on business need. We envisage a minimum of at least one day per week on-campus attendance for in person meetings and team anchor days, and as needed in-person for business tasks/deliverables. Some UK travel and occasional evening work will be required.
