Senior Clinical Fellow in Ear, Nose and Throat

Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) is pleased to offer an exceptional opportunity for a Peri‑CCT or post-exam fellow seeking advanced experience in Head and Neck ablative surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and complex multidisciplinary surgical care.

This fellowship is designed for candidates aiming to buildconsultant-level competenciesin high-level ENT practice within an established, high-performing regional centre.

About the Department

QVH is a leading regional Head & Neck unit operating a successful hub-and-spoke model serving a significant population across the South East.
The department includes:
• 16 OMFS Consultants
• 3 ENT Consultant Surgeons
• A high volume of weekly theatre lists dedicated to Head & Neck, thyroid, and parathyroid cases
• A fully equipped maxillofacial laboratory, including in-house 3D planning and wafer construction

The fellow will be an integral part of the clinical team, attending theatre, general and specialty clinics, MDT meetings, and consultant-led sessions.



About the Role

As the Senior Clinical Fellow in Ear, Nose and Throat Fellow , you will gain extensive experience across the full range of ablative procedures, including:
• Advanced and complex salvage Head & Neck cases
• Transoral laser microsurgery
• Benign and malignant thyroid surgery
• Parathyroid surgery

Close collaborative working with both ENT and Maxillofacial Consultants offers comprehensive exposure to reconstructive pathways and multidisciplinary care. During the fellowship, you will be supported to manage patients across the full clinical pathway—from initial presentation and MDT discussion, through surgery, into the postoperative and follow‑up phases.

What You Will Gain

Throughout the fellowship, you will develop confidence and advanced skills in:
• Elective ENT Head & Neck oncology pathways
• Diagnostic assessment and pre-operative planning
• Operative ENT Oncology , thyroid, and parathyroid surgery
• Postoperative care and long-term outpatient follow-up
• Complex case decision-making and participation in MDTs

If suitably experienced, you may also contribute to teaching junior staff and deliver departmental education sessions.

You will additionally be encouraged and supported to:
• Undertake audit and clinical governance
• Publish research using QVH’s extensive clinico-pathological datasets
• Participate in ongoing departmental projects and service improvement initiatives
