Gas Networks Ireland – Cork City
Full Time | Monday–Friday | €50,000 per annum plus Sodexo Benefits
Lead the Kitchen. Inspire the Team. Own the Experience.
At Sodexo, we believe food is more than fuel — it’s an experience. It brings people together, shapes workplace culture, and leaves a lasting impression.
We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Chef Manager to lead our catering operation at Gas Networks Ireland in Cork City. This is more than a kitchen role — it’s an opportunity to combine culinary creativity with commercial leadership and take ownership of a high-performing site.
If you’re a passionate foodie who thrives on standards, enjoys leading from the front, and wants to progress into broader management over the next few years, this could be your next step.
You’ll lead a dedicated team of four, delivering fresh, high-quality food while ensuring the operation runs efficiently, compliantly, and profitably.
The Role
As Chef Manager, you will have full responsibility for both the kitchen and the business behind it.
Culinary & Operational Leadership
- Lead daily food production, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation
- Deliver service within a structured, costed menu cycle
- Drive food innovation through themed days, pop-ups and seasonal promotions
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and compliance
Financial & Commercial Management
- Take ownership of site financial performance
- Manage budgets, forecasting, stock control and labour costs
- Ensure purchasing aligns with company frameworks and compliance processes
- Monitor and deliver against SLAs and KPIs
People Leadership
- Lead, motivate and develop your catering team
- Manage recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training
- Conduct regular team briefings and performance reviews
- Create a positive, high-performing kitchen culture
Client Relationship
- Act as the face of Sodexo on site
- Build strong, professional relationships with client stakeholders
- Drive customer satisfaction and continuously improve service delivery
About You
You’re more than a strong chef — you’re a natural leader with commercial awareness and ambition.
Essential
- Proven chef background with strong culinary skills
- Experience managing a team in a busy catering environment
- Confident managing budgets and financial performance
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and compliance standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance hands-on kitchen leadership with operational oversight
Desirable
- Experience contributing to longer-term business planning
- Commercial awareness and interest in growing a site
- Track record of improving customer satisfaction
- Ambition to progress into broader management within the next three years
