A Junior Clinical Fellow is sought to work as part of the specialist Upper GI Surgery team at Imperial College NHS Trust starting ASAP. The successful candidate will be an SHO or equivalent with experience in Upper GI Surgery

looking to further develop their knowledge and skills in this area. Working as part of the regional cancer centre for North West London at Hammersmith Hospital, West London.

The Upper GI surgical service moved to the Hammersmith (HH) site in March 2019. It is the regional upper GI cancer unit for north-west London and parts of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and offers a range of routine and highly specialised surgical procedures, including:

• Specialist oesophago-gastric cancer (open and minimally invasive)

• Specialist laparoscopic services for benign upper gastrointestinal surgery, including reflux disease, achalesia and other motility disorders

• Redo and reconstructive gastric surgery for benign disease

There are strong links with a vibrant gastro-intestinal physician unit which is the network centre for the management of early cancers, with excellent diagnostic and radiological input in a multi-professional setting.

Opportunities for research exist through Imperial College with all the oesophago-gastric consultants holding academic appointments and having active research groups.
