An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic nurse , who has leadership skills to join the MREH OPD team in the Altrincham as a Band 6 sister/charge nurse on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have an ability to problem solve and work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team. You will have a passion for leading a team and be able to demonstrate clear leadership skills, and an ability to deputize for the department manager.

The successful applicant will get the opportunity to develop a wide range of management skills, for example staff management, off duty E - rostering whilst still maintaining their clinical skills. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to implementing and developing the IQP process.

Interested candidates should have highly effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a diverse team of professionals. Candidates should also be able to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels, have excellent organizational skills and the ability to use their own initiative.

We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking and motivated nurse to take on this role. To succeed you will need to demonstrate that you are committed to ensuring high quality; patient focused care and have excellent interpersonal skills. The position offers a great opportunity to learn new clinical and leadership skills and the successful candidate will have to complete Ophthalmology Learning Program , and will be able to further develop managerial skills. Professional, hard working and conscientious, you will have well-developed communication and motivational skills and evidence of involvement in change management and service improvement. You will have a mature and thorough approach to your work, coupled with a desire to take the service forward through quality initiatives, extending and developing nursing roles and an enthusiasm for learning new skills and competencies.; As part of Manchester Royal Eye Hospital; we are committed to supporting the professional development of its employees. The successful candidate will be provided with a comprehensive induction, regular one to one meetings and support sessions with the Unit Manager for Outpatient Services and receive an annual appraisal and professional development plan. He/she will be empowered to be involved in, and have the opportunity to influence the future direction of the unit.
