Location: Leechpool Lane, Roffey, Horsham, West Sussex, RH13 6AG
Hours: 37 per week
Start Date: 16 March 2026

Rate: PAYE: £16.89 per hour

About the Client
West Sussex County Council’s Adult Services and Health directorate provides high‑quality residential support for adults with a range of physical, mental and social care needs. The service focuses on outcome‑based care, independence, and enabling individuals to maintain or develop daily living skills in a safe and supportive environment.

The Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role within a residential service, supporting the Manager with day‑to‑day operations and overseeing designated areas of work. You will provide direct care, guide staff, and ensure service users receive personalised, outcome‑focused support. The role requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, sleep‑ins and occasional escorting of service users on holidays.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver outcome‑based care to support service users in maintaining and developing daily living skills

Support the Manager with daily operational duties and designated responsibilities

Provide guidance and support to staff within the residential service

Maintain positive, caring relationships with service users with varying mental and physical needs

Communicate effectively with service users, colleagues and external partners

Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and sleep‑in duties as part of a rota

Escort service users on holidays when required

Manage challenging situations, including supporting individuals who may be distressed, aggressive or abusive

Ensure all work aligns with safeguarding responsibilities and organisational policies

Candidate Requirements
Experience working within adult residential or social care settings

Ability to support outcome‑based care planning and delivery

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively in English

Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins

Resilience and confidence in managing challenging behaviours

Ability to maintain professional boundaries and provide high‑quality care

Team‑focused approach with the ability to support colleagues

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults
