Crynodeb

The Electrical Fitter/Panel Wirer is responsible for the electrical assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical and control systems for Fortress products. This hands-on role supports the production of conveyors, checkweigher systems, X-ray systems, gravity systems, pipeline systems, metal detectors, and other custom machinery we manufacture.

The position requires the ability to interpret electrical drawings and pneumatic schematics, perform mechanical assembly, support system testing and commissioning, and ensure all products are built in accordance with customer specifications and company quality standards.

• Assemble electrical panels and control panels according to engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and specifications.
• Support electrical assemblers, electrical technicians, and mechanical technicians within the production department.
• Inspect electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components prior to assembly to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of conveyors, checkweigher systems, X-ray systems, gravity systems, pipeline systems, metal detectors, and custom equipment.
• Wire motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and metal detectors in accordance with electrical schematics.
• Assist with PLC setup and configuration as required.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and integrated systems prior to Quality Control (QC) inspection.
• Support machine troubleshooting, system validation, and commissioning activities.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformance reports (NCRs) and production issues; implement corrective actions as required.
• Verify part dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Maintain electrical parts inventory and ensure proper storage and organization of materials.
• Ability to work Independently and logically to achieve required business needs.
• Ability to follow instruction and prioritise workflow.

Specific Skills /Experience
• Diploma in Electrical or related field.
• 2-4 years of production floor experience in electrical assembly.
• Experience installing electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and material handling systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and pneumatic schematics.
• Knowledge of current industrial electrical standards.
• Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
