Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Description
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Car Mechanic to join our team in Glasgow. We have positions available for both fully skilled and semi-skilled mechanics. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure they are safe and roadworthy.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional workshop with opportunities to develop skills and grow within the role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical faults
Carry out routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes and filter replacements
Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
Repair or replace faulty parts such as brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, and clutches
Perform vehicle servicing in accordance with safety and manufacturer standards
Test vehicles after repairs to ensure issues have been resolved
Maintain accurate records of work carried out
Follow all health and safety procedures
Keep the workshop clean and organised
Work as part of a team to ensure efficient workflow
Additional duties for Fully Skilled Mechanics:
Perform advanced diagnostics and complex repairs
Work independently with minimal supervision
Support and assist semi-skilled mechanics
Additional duties for Semi-Skilled Mechanics:
Assist fully skilled mechanics with repairs and servicing
Carry out basic maintenance under supervision
Develop mechanical skills and knowledge on the job
Requirements:
Fully Skilled Mechanic:
City & Guilds qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic
Strong diagnostic and repair skills
Ability to work independently
Semi-Skilled Mechanic:
Basic mechanical knowledge or workshop experience preferred
Willingness to learn and develop skills
Positive attitude and reliability
