Accounts Assistant
Full time| Permanent | c £30,000 per annum
Location: Gloucester
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing business based in Gloucester, operating within a technical, project driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team and play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
The role will suit someone with strong attention to detail who is comfortable managing multiple finance processes in a fast-paced setting.
Key responsibilities
. Managing the purchase ledger from start to finish
. Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
. Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
. Handling accounts payable, including supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs
. Managing credit control activities, chasing outstanding payments and maintaining positive client relationships
. Resolving invoice and payment queries with suppliers and internal stakeholders
. Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month end processes
. Assisting with ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required
About you
. Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role
. Strong working knowledge of purchase ledger, accounts payable and credit control
. Confident processing invoices and handling financial data accurately
. Comfortable working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
. Organised, reliable and able to manage competing deadlines
. Professional communicator with a proactive approach to problem solving
