Chocolate Maker
Our client is a small but dedicated chocolate business that takes pride in producing high-quality, handcrafted chocolate. They are seeking a hardworking and reliable Chocolate Maker to join their close-knit team. The successful candidate will be responsible for production, packing operations, ensuring a smooth flow of materials, stock management, and the efficient packaging of finished products.
Key Responsibilities
Production Duties:
- Preparation of raw materials and equipment in advance of production.
- Production of our client's full range of chocolate bars, buttons and hot chocolate.
- Assist in feeding chocolate bars into the automated wrapping machine efficiently and consistently or wrapping chocolate buttons or hot chocolate by hand.
- Date code wrapped bars and box them according to specifications.
- Prepare boxed products for labelling and ensure they are properly packaged for warehouse storage.
- Ensure the production facility meets the highest food safety and hygiene standards and maintain all the relevant documentation.
- Conduct quality control checks on wrapped and boxed products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of premises, production equipment, packaging, and warehouse areas and ensure cleaning records are maintained.
Stock Management and Manual Handling:
- Assist with transporting large bags of chocolate, packaging materials, and finished products between storage and production areas.
- Organise and maintain stock, including accurate stock management and rotation.
- Support general warehouse operations, including receiving, storing and dispatching product.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous food production experience preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work on tasks that involve manual handling or repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality throughout our client's whole process.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team as well as independently when needed.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (training provided).
- Ability to follow health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

- Must be punctual, reliable, and committed to maintaining high work standards.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and equipment as required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict production deadlines.
- Able to handle a warehouse and production role which includes lifting some heavy goods safely.
