Learning Disabilities Nurse RNLD - Up to £39,000



You’ll be working on an inpatient ward supporting adults with learning disabilities and co-existing mental health conditions. The role involves hands-on nursing care, risk assessment, medication management, and leading care delivery across a 12-hour shift. Patients may present with complex needs and behaviours that challenge, requiring confident clinical judgement and consistent therapeutic input.



Before You Apply



  • You must hold active NMC registration as a Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD).

  • You must have completed your preceptorship and have post-registration experience.

  • This position is NOT suitable for newly qualified nurses who have not finished preceptorship.



Key Job Details



  • Salary up to £39,000 depending on experience

  • Full-time permanent contract

  • 37.5 hours per week -12-hour shifts including days, nights and weekends

What You’ll Need



  • Active NMC registration as RNLD

  • Completed preceptorship with post-registration nursing experience

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a clinical setting

  • Confidence managing risk, medication administration, and documentation

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends



What You’ll Do



  • Deliver and evaluate person-centred care plans for adults with learning disabilities

  • Administer medication and complete clinical risk assessments

  • Lead shifts and coordinate care alongside the multidisciplinary team

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NMC standards

  • Respond to incidents and implement positive behavioural support strategies

  • Contribute to ward reviews, handovers, and care planning meetings
