Clinical: You would be responsible for the assessment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for up to 16 service users in our Acute service. This is a fast paced environment, providing rapid access to, care supporting women to move quickly and safely through to the most appropriate least restrictive setting for ongoing care and treatment.
You will be based with a supportive team of OTs experienced in the service. The team works across the range of specialisms. Our team is passionate and dedicated to the care and treatment of their service users but also to the development of student OTs and preceptorship OTs.
Our Adult Female Acute service in Kenney House provides an emergency acute inpatient service, offering a safe and stabilising environment for women experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and requiring an emergency admission to assess, treat and plan discharge in a robust and timely fashion. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each service user to develop the skills for occupational function they require to move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge.
All our services are therapy and recovery focused, providing assessment, treatment and discharge planning. The aim is to effectively progress service users though the service care pathway, into the least restrictive environment as possible, as quickly as possible.
Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction:
We offer an Occupational Therapy 12 month preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy Skills for newly qualified Occupational Therapists making the transition from student to practitioner. This preceptorship programme has received much praise over recent years from Band 5 OTs who have felt it has significantly supported their transition in to confident clinical practice.
