Job Advert
Torus is seeking an Allocations and Lettings Officer to oversee the end-to-end lettings process, ensuring void properties are
turned around promptly and efficiently. This varied role requires flexibility and commitment, with responsibility for processing
notices and tenancy terminations, tracking voids, completing landlord checks on Local Authority nominations in line with policy,
and working collaboratively to meet turnaround targets. You will also sign up new tenants, issue decorating vouchers and access
fobs, promote digital services, and apply the “Every Contact Counts” approach to maximise income and enhance the customer
experience.
Working Pattern & Requirements:
This is a part-time position based at our Warrington office, working 18.5 hours per week. Core working days are Monday, Tuesday
and Wednesday.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Maintain office systems, customer files, housing management systems and accurate computerised records of applications and
tenancies.
* Advertise properties promptly in line with Local Authority allocation schemes and follow procedures for recalculating
affordable rents.
* Provide up-to-date policy and procedure information to internal customers.
* Deliver front-line customer service as the first point of contact, responding to telephone, email and website enquiries with
excellent customer care.
* Provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the team, including producing statistical data and reports.
* Administer the full empty homes process from notice to leave through to sign-up and issuing access fobs, maximising income and
reducing re-let times.
* Complete tenancy sign-ups, prepare documentation, resolve utility issues, support benefit applications, undertake follow-up
actions, and conduct courtesy calls within 48 hours.
* Liaise with utility providers and internal teams to resolve outstanding bills and streamline processes, ensuring value for
money.
* Understand and apply policies relating to empty properties, incentives, sundry debts and data protection requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
* Educated to a GCSE standard or equivalent
* CIH level 3 or willingness to work towards
* Experience of dealing with the public in a service environment.
* Excellent communication / written skills, with the confidence to engage with customers, colleagues and external partners
* Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet customer needs and business requirements.
* A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute positively to team and corporate objectives
Interview Process:
* Candidates will be invited to in-person interviews at our Warrington office, which will include a competency-based interview.
Interviews will commence w/c 16th March 2026
