We are seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support the safe, compliant and effective delivery of facility services across a government contract.
This role plays a key part in ensuring our workplaces operate to the highest standards, contributing directly to a positive experience for our customers and colleagues on site.
Job Description
We are looking for an individual with strong supervisory skills who can confidently lead Placemakers across a regional area, while working in close partnership with the Regional Facilities Manager.
The successful candidate will support service excellence, maintain operational compliance, and ensure our facility teams remain well-trained, well-organised and commercially focused.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and line manage site-based Placemakers across a defined regional area.
Deliver service standards, agreed outcomes and contract performance targets.
Support the Regional Facilities Manager with operational oversight and service excellence.
Manage rostering for Engineering, Cleaning and facility Placemakers, ensuring sites are fully staffed and absences are covered.
Ensure completion, upkeep and timely review of documents including audits, COSHH, H&S and SOPs.
Ensure effective recruitment, training and development of frontline Placemakers.
Record all customer queries and complaints through the appropriate procedure.
Control costs responsibly, including materials, consumables, payroll and agency labour usage.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Supervisory experience in facility, engineering or cleaning services environments.
Strong organisational capability and the ability to work independently while following managerial guidance.
Understanding of how service performance contributes to contract success.
Ability to manage operational performance to achieve desired outcomes.
Experience reviewing service levels and identifying improvement opportunities.
Resilient, proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills.
Ability to monitor and review team performance to ensure goals and targets are met.
