Do you believe in every young person’s potential?
Can you help students feel respected, safe and ready to achieve?
Are you motivated by making a real difference every single day?
If so, Richard Barnes Academy would love to hear from you!
Your role:
As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils on our short-term reset programme, helping them overcome barriers and successfully reintegrate into lessons. Working closely with teachers, senior leaders and external professionals, you will deliver targeted interventions, encourage positive behaviour and provide consistent emotional and academic support.
You’ll nurture strong, trusting relationships with students, guiding them through challenges, supporting their literacy and numeracy, and helping them stay focused and motivated. To succeed, you’ll bring experience of supporting diverse needs—including SEMH, ASD or ADHD—along with strong communication skills, calm behaviour management and a genuine commitment to inclusive practice.
About us:
Richard Barnes Academy is an alternative provision academy committed to supporting and raising the aspirations of children who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. We value our staff and offer a supportive and inclusive work environment where you can make a significant impact on children’s lives, helping them achieve their full potential.
Why work for us?:
This is more than a job, it’s a chance to change lives. You’ll join a supportive, inclusive, values‑driven school where staff are genuinely valued. You’ll access strong professional development through both the academy and Thomas Deacon Education Trust, giving you clear pathways for growth at every career stage. You’ll work with a team that never gives up on its learners and is dedicated to helping them move forward. If you want a role with real purpose, where your compassion, determination and commitment help shape young people’s futures, we’d love to hear from you.
