10 hours per week non term time (Monday all day with some flexibility)
Salary: £14.50 p/h (Self-employed applicants welcome)
Location: ME2 Strood.

Job description.

This role is primarily to offer company, companionship and support to a 17-year-old young person who lives at home with his mum, dad, and sister.
He has a diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), which causes muscles to weaken over time. He also has osteoporosis and adrenal insufficiency, meaning his body needs extra support to stay healthy.
He uses a powered wheelchair and other specialist equipment at home and requires assistance from his family for mobility and everyday tasks.

The young person has interests in Lego, Gaming, Meals out, and Cinema.
We are looking to recruit a like-minded PA to support with undertaking meaningful activities / interactions within the home and community.

PA should have qualities of Kindness, patience, understanding, empathy, and a warm friendly manner.
Have good communication skills and sense of humour.
Must be reliable and trustworthy and can approach tasks with a positive attitude.
Applicants should ideally have up to date moving and handling qualification or be willing to undertake relevant training.
Full induction into the role will be provided on the job by parents.

Hourly rate would be negotiable depending on PA status.

Enhanced DBS is required.
