Crynodeb
Clinically lead, develop and provide a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy (S<) service for the rehabilitation unit, elderly mental health and traumatic brain injury services. To work as an autonomous practitioner implementing highly specialised assessment, evaluation, treatment and management of patients with complex needs. Providing highly specialist professional knowledge for other disciplines so that the contribution of Speech and Language Therapy can be integrated within the total service provision of the rehabilitation ward, elderly mental health service, and people living in the community with a traumatic brain injury. Providing advice and training to clients, their families and other professional staff on the management of complex communication and swallowing disorders. To work as an advanced practitioner in video-fluoroscopy and FEES (Fibre Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) clinics as required. Due to the nature of being a small team the post holder will be expected to support in other areas as required e.g. on the medical wards and community settings.
