Bapp Group are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail‑orientated individual to join the business as a Quality Control Operative Apprentice. This is an excellent pathway into the engineering, materials testing, and quality assurance sectors while working towards the Laboratory Technician Level 3 apprenticeship.
You will become an important part of the Quality Control team, ensuring that fasteners and related products meet strict safety and performance standards before they reach the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Control Operative Apprentice, you will be trained to carry out a range of laboratory and quality‑testing activities, including:
Testing & Inspection Duties
Performing dimensional and mechanical testing of fasteners to ensure their safe use.
Conducting chemical analysis of steels to identify material composition.
Undertaking hardness testing, tensile testing, and additional mechanical tests as required.
Assessing test results against national and international standards to ensure full compliance.
Administrative Duties
Completing all required test documentation accurately.
Filing, recording, and maintaining quality control records to support audit and compliance processes.
Full training will be provided, giving you hands‑on technical experience in a professional laboratory environment.

An interest in engineering, materials science, or laboratory work.

Good organisational skills and the ability to follow procedures confidently.

Working week: 39.5 Hours per week, 8:00AM – 5PM Monday – Thursday, Friday 8:00AM – 4:30PM.
Future Prospects: The opportunity to advance in the QC/QA departments and partake in further training relevant to the industry.
