Personal Advisor (Band 4) - 16+ Service

Antrim
£14.06 per hour (Agency)
Full‑time | 37.5 hours per week

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our public‑sector client for a Band 4 Personal Advisor within the 16+ Service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support professional passionate about working with young people preparing to leave care.

About the Role

The Personal Advisor will provide practical advice, mentoring, and emotional support to young people aged 16+ who are preparing to leave the care system. You will help develop, implement, and review Pathway Plans, ensuring each young person receives appropriate guidance and access to services.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Supporting young people through their transition to independent living
  • Offering advocacy and representing young people's wishes and views
  • Contributing to assessments and pathway planning
  • Staying in regular contact with young people and monitoring progress
  • Coordinating services and liaising with internal/external agencies
  • Maintaining accurate written records in line with Trust policies

✔ Essential Criteria

  • 5 GCSEs A-C including English Language
  • NISCC registration
  • Minimum 2 years' recent experience engaging with adolescents individually or in groups (paid or voluntary)
  • Experience working with relevant stakeholders such as parents, GPs, teachers, youth groups, or police
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (unless exempt under disability provisions)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Empathy and understanding of issues faced by young people leaving care
  • Ability to maintain accurate written records
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours where required

Additional Information

  • Normal working hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time)
  • Based within the Children & Young People Division
  • May require occasional evening/weekend work due to service needs
  • Must comply with Trust policies including safeguarding, confidentiality, information governance, and infection control
