This role operates full-time hours (36.25 hours per week) About the role We’re recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor to join our established Health and Safety Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated H&S professional to play a key role in keeping our colleagues, customers, and communities safe. In this role, you will support the delivery of effective health and safety arrangements across the organisation, ensuring we meet our statutory requirements while promoting a positive and proactive safety culture. You will work collaboratively with managers and colleagues across designated departments to offer practical guidance and help embed safe ways of working. This role involves engaging with teams to understand operational needs, ensuring health and safety risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed in line with legislation, best practice, and the Group’s values and approach to risk management. Please note - This is an agile role, giving you the flexibility to work in a way that best supports the needs of the service. You’ll divide your time between working from home / or the office and being out in the field, with the majority of your work taking place on-site across our operational locations. Day to day responsibilities. Provide professional health and safety advice to colleagues and managers.Carry out accident and incident investigations to establish root cause and oversee remedial actions to prevent recurrenceCarry out inspections and monitoring activities to help maintain safe environments.Assist in the development and review of policies, procedures, and risk assessments.Help promote a positive safety culture through engagement, awareness, and training Work collaboratively across the organisation to support compliance and continuous improvement. Please note: a full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is required for this role due to some travel involved. Occasional overnight stays may also be required. What we’re looking for Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).Technical Member of IOSH (TechIOSH) Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements and guidanceExperience of working in a health and safety role including advising and applying health and safety legislationStrong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the Group. Desirable: Experience within property, facilities, or compliance-related environments.Experience supporting audits, investigations, or safety improvement projects.Working towards further professional development (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma) Experience with using and managing safety technology, such as lone worker devices and HAVS monitoring equipment Experience in delivering health and safety training Why Progress?
