SEN Teaching Assistant
ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Prospero Teaching is looking for an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a diverse and welcoming primary school located in Abbey Wood, Greenwich. The school is a popular two-form entry mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff. This position is only open to qualified and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within the early years settings within the school. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
· Location - Abbey Wood, Greenwich
· Position - Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant
· Type of work - Supporting children with additional needs through targeted interventions 1:1s ; promoting inclusive, play-based learning; assisting with classroom management, behaviour support, and adapting activities to ensure all pupils can access the EYFS curriculum.
Start date - As soon as possible
· End date - July 2026 with a view to extend to the end of academic year 2026/27
· Contract type - Full time, Long term
· Rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP105-115 per day (depending on experience)
· Hours - 8:15am - 16:00pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3 or above)
· Minimum 1+ years' experience supporting children within an EYFS setting
· Experience delivering targeted SEN interventions
· Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework and early child development
· Confident supporting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
· Experience supporting children with SEN, including communication and language needs
· Up-to-date Safeguarding training
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
· Hold Right to Work in the UK
· Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
· Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
