Location: Chelmsford, Essex (with student pick-up and drop off in Maylandsea, Essex)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
Setting: Smaller-than-average SEN College

Are you a compassionate, reliable and confident female Learning Support Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in a young persons life? We are currently seeking an enthusiastic LSA to support a student with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) within a welcoming, smaller-than-average SEN College located in Chelmsford, Essex.


About the Role:
This position involves providing daily 1:1 support to a student with SEMH needs throughout their college day. A key part of the role requires the successful candidate to drive to the students home address in Maylandsea, Essex each morning, collect them safely, and transport them to the college in Chelmsford. You will then support them throughout the day with learning, engagement, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour strategies, before returning them home at the end of the day.


Key Responsibilities:
· Provide consistent 1:1 support to a student with SEMH needs
· Promote independence, engagement, and positive emotional wellbeing
· Implement behaviour strategies and build strong, trusting relationships
· Support with academic and practical activities throughout the college day
· Drive to Maylandsea daily to pick up the student and transport them safely to/from the college
· Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapy teams, and pastoral leads


Requirements:
· Female candidate required, due to the personal nature of support
· Must be a confident driver (daily pick-up required)
· Full, clean UK driving licence
· Experience supporting young people with SEMH (essential)
· Calm, patient, and resilient approach
· Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain clear, supportive communication
· Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
