Who we’re looking for:
This role is pivotal in driving evidence-based decision-making and supporting a major organisational transformation. The successful candidate will turn complex data into actionable insights that improve processes, enhance the student experience, and optimise operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse current processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collect, clean, and interpret data from multiple systems, including Student Records, CRM, and Finance.
• Design and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Support future-state process design for major workstreams, including Student Journeys, CRM and ERP readiness, and Centralised Services.
• Perform data quality checks and promote best practices in data governance and compliance.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of data-informed decision-making across the organisation.
Requirements:
Essential:
• Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualisation within complex organisations.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design dashboards for diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of data protection, GDPR, and ethical handling of data.
Desirable:
• Experience with Salesforce Education Cloud or similar CRM platforms.
• Experience in transformation or digital change programmes.
• Skills in advanced analytics techniques (predictive modelling, statistical analysis).
• Knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Python or R.
• Experience in higher education or regulated environments.
You’ll need to enjoy:
• Collaborating with others: working across teams to deliver joined-up digital workflows
• Problem Solving & Solution Engineering: working with stakeholders to overcome challenges and digitise processes
• Communicating with impact: translating complex information into clear, compelling narratives
• Thinking strategically and creatively: using insight, evidence and innovation to strengthen engagement
• Working flexibly and at pace: managing multiple priorities and adapting to change with confidence
Where you’ll work:
You’ll be based in the Digital, Data & Technology Directorate on our green campus in the north of Plymouth.
Under our hybrid working policy, you may work from home or on campus; however, regular on-site presence is expected to support collaboration, stakeholder engagement and delivery.
