About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Reporting Accountant to join our Tarmac Group Finance team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis that supports senior management decision‑making and ensures full compliance with CRH reporting standards
You’ll work closely with teams across CRH Group Finance, FP&A, R2R, auditors and wider finance functions, giving you exposure across the organisation and the opportunity to grow into broader financial or future leadership roles.
**Please note this position is for a 12-month fixed-term contract**
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Reporting Accountant, you will:
- Act as a key contact for the lease accounting process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards for monthly and quarterly reporting
- Prepare consolidation journals and balance sheet consolidation schedules
- Complete key SAP reconciliations, including centrally held provisions
- Support the development and maintenance of strong checks and balances across Tarmac finance systems
- Prepare the monthly financial pack for senior leadership
- Produce and maintain critical SOx controls within the reporting team
- Partner with the R2R statutory accounts team on the annual accounts preparation
- Respond to technical accounting queries from the business
- Work with R2R to ensure source data accuracy, mapping alignment and adherence to Group guidance
- Liaise with key stakeholders including CRH, internal and external auditors
- Contribute to ad‑hoc projects and wider finance initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Education
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong technical financial knowledge and understanding of reporting standards
Skills & Competencies
You will bring:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning and organisational ability, with confidence managing multiple priorities
- High‑quality data-handling and analytical skills, including process automation or streamlining
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
